INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

I am researching building typography, Institution and exhibition .
I became pretty interested in fashion and music as one entity because they can both work hand in hand and I never witnessed or experienced the two combined at their strengths. My specialty is a center for Music/Fashion and Concert/exhibition Venue.

Examples are:
1. Lincoln Center by DS + R

Diller Scofidio + Renfro-Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center

2. Gateshead Council - The Sage Gateshead by Norman Foster

3. The Cité de la Mode et du design (Fashion and Design complex) byJakob + Mac farlane

4. Irish World Academy of Music and Dance by DLB Cordier Architect

 5. New World Center, Miami Beach, Florida by Frank Gehry

6. Oslo Opera House, Osla, Norway by Snohetta

7. Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angelos California by Frank Gehry

8. Music Center at Strathmore, North Bethesda, MD, USA
(Architects:  William Rawn Associates Architects Inc., Grimm & Parker Architects, 2005)

9. Vakko Fashion Center, Istanbul, Turkey by REX Architects

10. Designed by the students of the architectural design faculty of Hefey University of Technology with the designers of the company "Huainan Fangkai Decoration Project Co

My goals for working with this building type are:
- To find a way to combine these two specific areas of the arts by joining and combining similarities and where they compliment each other into my design.
- To complete this project into something that would work in real life-- A building that everyone would like to go to.

Program elements that I found so far that I would like to include:
  • Practices room
  • Tutorial rooms
  • recording studio
  • Control Room for the theatre
  • Instrument store, Coms room
  • Performance space viewing gallery with fixed seating

  1. GREAT examples. Now you need to analyze 3 of those examples based on your assignment, with simple diagrams
